Malta - the final day

Friday was our last full day in Malta. We hadn't done the boat cruise around Valletta harbour - so we made that a priority for the morning. As we had hoped to also get out to the Playmobil factory in the afternoon we had an early start. However, the gods that control the timing of local buses weren't on our side (especially now that they are running on the 'winter' timetable) and most of the day was consumed with getting across to Sliema to catch the boat, completing the cruise and finding some lunch in Sliema. As we had run out of time to catch the bus out to Playmobil, we then picked up some last minute souvenirs (not that we can carry much with a 23 kg weight limit each and 3 months-worth of possessions for hot and cold countries).

On Saturday morning the taxi arrived as planned at 5.30 am - even finding our place 10 mins early. We had an uneventful trip out to Luqa airport and a very long trip on the airport bus (full length of the runway) out to catch our plane.
