Hull

On John's birthday, he decided to retrace some of his Mum's footsteps. We found the house where she grew up in York and then headed to Hull. John's Mum taught in a school in Hull, before heading to Africa to set up a school in Uganda. I suspect that Uganda was a better option! I wasn't sure that Hull was the best place to go for John's birthday, after everything we have heard about Hull. However, the centre of the city was reasonably pleasant and there seems to be a lot of recent investment around the main historic buildings. All of the museums were free to visit and we found a nice pub to have lunch. A nice day out and with Sophie and Will both having after school sport planned, we had plenty of time to wander around.
