Birmingham Ballet

I managed to fit in some more walking last Friday, to the east of Malton. Unfortunately, the easiest connection to the the coast is beside freeways - so, I'll have to check the maps for more countryside trails. Saturday seemed to be the busiest day yet. The land lady came to change linen in the morning, I then did the food shopping and drove out to St Martin's Ampleforth to see Sophie play rounders at 1.30pm. I picked Sophie up and we went to Cundall Manor to watch Will play cricket. There were roadworks on the way but even after the detours and a 3/4 hour drive, we managed to see Will bat and bowl.

We then went into York to see the Birmingham Royal Ballet at the recently refurbished Royal York Theatre. The performance came with its own mini orchestra. The ballet included various mini pieces from Shakespeare plays. Sophie and Will liked the 'Taming of the Shrew' best.

On Sunday the kids finished some homework and went to a service by the Archbishop of York at Castle Howard. The Archbishop had also visited the school during the week.
